APPAM

Appam is a South Indian sweet that is made during Krishna Jayanthi, Ganesh Chathurthi etc.

Ingredients : Wheat flour (about 250 gms)

Bananas : 3 (There isnt any hard n fast rule. This number can also vary)

Jaggery : 100 gms

Raisins : As desired

Salt : A pinch

1. Mash the bananas in a mixer-grinder without adding water.
2. Dissolve the jaggery by adding water to it. Then filter this water to remove sediments.
3. Mix the wheat flour, mashed bananas, salt and the jaggery water to make a semi solid paste.
4. Fry the raisins in ghee and add it to the paste
5. Beat this well to avoid lumps.
6. Heat refined oil in a pan.
7. Using a spoon, pour this paste into balls and fry them

Note: The excess oil on the appam can be absorbed using the normal tissue papers.
Coconut pieces can also be mixed to the flour instead of bananas
